Helping Hands Housing Services

Helping Hands Housing Services

History

Between 1993 and 2001, Helping Hands was an all-volunteer fundraising entity that helped finance other agencies that served the homeless and working poor populations in Phoenix.

Beginning in 2002, Helping Hands implemented a program to acquire multi-family properties from which permanent affordable housing is offered to individuals and families at rental rates substantially below those of market rate housing. Today, Helping Hands owns and operates four apartment communities in central and south Phoenix comprised of 206 apartment units serving over 600 individuals.

Additionally, Helping Hands also provides free, on-site program services to our residents. Each of our family properties has a program center staffed with a full- time programs coordinator who develops and implements programs specific to the needs of the residents. All of our program services are designed to educate and empower our residents to become self-sufficient.
